The MRED is a finance-driven, multidisciplinary program that takes a comprehensive approach to the real estate development process. Students master equity and debt structuring, and property law while tackling hands-on projects—ranging from infill sites and affordable housing to commercial real estate developments. The program concludes with an end-to-end development feasibility study, combining rigorous financial modeling with design and policy strategy for a real-world asset. Flexible path: The program is 33 to 42 credits, depending on your prior real estate education or professional experience, though neither is required to apply. If you arrive with a strong background, you can waive one or more leveling courses and move into advanced electives. Accelerated Path: 12 months (for students with prior real estate education or extensive real estate work experience); Full Time Path: 15-18 months (for students not working more than 10 hours a week); or Part Time Path: 24-60 months (for students working 20 hours or more a week who may elect to take a minimum of two and a maximum of five years to completion.)
