Total Graduation Requirement: 30 AUs
MSE offers two niche specialisations that allow students to pursue deeper expertise in a chosen area, adding value to their degree.
These specialisations will be available to students admitted from August 2026 Intake (AY2026/2027 Semester 1) onwards. Please note that specialisation is optional and not a programme requirement. Those who choose not to take a specialisation will graduate with a general MSc (Materials Science and Engineering) degree.
Students may opt into a specialisation track at the start of their 1st semester of study. Please complete and submit the specialisation online application form during the course registration period. To fulfil the requirements of the specialisation, you are required to complete a total of 30 AUs, comprising 18 AUs of General Electives and 12 AUs of Specialisation Electives and achieve a minimum of CGPA 2.5 to graduate with a specialisation.

General Electives
For applicants whose native language is not English, TOEFL/IELTS score is to be submitted with the application for admission. GRE is not required for MSc programme (by coursework).
These are minimum admission requirements. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee admission, as selection is competitive. All applicants will be holistically evaluated academically, relevancy of work experience and other relevant experiences.
