By studying our Complex Systems and Data Modelling MSc, you will become part of a rapidly developing interdisciplinary field and you will be equipped with skills for performing wide-ranging roles in academia and industry: from mathematical modelling of economic systems and neural networks to data science.
Complex Systems refers to a wide range of systems, which may include gene regulatory systems, neural nets, social and financial networks, road traffic, flocks of birds, and many others. These systems are all composed of many interacting elements, e.g. genes in a gene regulatory network or firms in a financial system, whose global performance is difficult to predict and analyse on the basis of the rules governing the behaviour of its individual constituents. This course teaches you the mathematical and computational techniques required to model these systems and to analyse the data that arise from them.
