The key responsibilities of Research Investigator in discovery biology team include but not limited to: - Contribute to target biology and disease biology research by executing hypothesis-driven studies, generating scientific data, and supporting target validation activities under the guidance of senior leaders. - Support MOA research and drug discovery efforts across diverse therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, antibodies, ADCs, RNA therapeutics, and other emerging modalities. - Work closely with cross-functional matrix teams as a key scientific contributor. Execute research plans, provide biological insights, troubleshoot technical challenges, and support data-driven decision making under the direction of project and functional leaders. - Conduct and support research activities using cellular, molecular, and other biological approaches to enable target validation, modality assessment, hit and lead identification, and candidate selection in alignment with project objectives and scientific strategies. - Stay informed of scientific and technological advances in biology and drug discovery. Evaluate and implement relevant new technologies, methodologies, and external scientific developments to enhance research capabilities and productivity. - Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and an innovative mindset by contributing new scientific ideas, proposing creative experimental approaches, and identifying opportunities to advance research objectives. - Present scientific findings to internal and external audiences, contribute to publications, patents, regulatory documents, and other scientific communications under appropriate guidance and supervision. - Maintain hands-on laboratory involvement, including experimental design, execution, assay development and optimization, data analysis, troubleshooting, SOP preparation, and accurate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN). - Contribute to team and departmental initiatives that promote scientific excellence, operational effectiveness, knowledge sharing, and collaborative research culture. Responsibilities: - Develop, establish, and optimize cell-based and cell-free assays to support target validation and MOA studies in low-, medium-, or high-throughput formats under the supervision of a group leader and in alignment with project objectives. - Contribute to target validation activities through literature review, data analysis, and experimental execution. Support the evaluation of scientific hypotheses and technical approaches under the guidance of senior scientific leadership. - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute biological insights to multidisciplinary project discussions under the direction of project and functional leaders. - Generate, analyze, and interpret experimental data within the appropriate scientific context. Develop conclusions and propose follow-up studies, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders with guidance from senior leaders. - Manage assigned responsibilities and prioritize workload effectively to support project timelines, key deliverables, and organizational objectives. Requirements: - PhD in the disciplines of medical and life sciences; specialty in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, epigenetics, cancer biology or related fields with 0~2 years of academic postdoc/ biopharmaceutical research experience; - Strong scientific expertise in immunology and/or cancer biology, with a proven record of high-quality scientific publications and a solid understanding of fundamental biological principles. Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, scientific creativity, and the ability to rapidly learn and contribute across diverse research areas. - Proven ability to independently design experimental studies, develop and optimize experimental methods, execute research plans, and provide appropriate technical guidance to team members. Extensive experience in molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, transfection/transduction, siRNA-mediated knockdown, CRISPR gene editing, molecular and cellular biology, and immunofluorescence is required. Experience in biochemistry, biophysics, or cell-free assays (e.g., SPR, mass spectrometry, enzymology) is preferred. Knowledge of bioinformatics analyses, animal model development, and primary tissue/cell isolation and culture is a plus. - Demonstrated ability to analyze experimental results, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to research objectives through effective scientific reasoning and execution. - Innovative, proactive, and scientifically curious, with the ability to challenge assumptions, generate new ideas, and explore creative approaches to complex biology problems. - Highly motivated, adaptable, and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced research environment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to effectively communicate scientific findings and collaborate with colleagues across internal and external teams.
