Challenges such as climate change, security of supply and providing clean and affordable energy to everyone, are more urgent than ever. Therefore, transitioning towards sustainable energy systems is imperative. Do you want to contribute? The two-year Master’s programme Energy Science is aimed at students who want to play a key-role in the transition towards sustainable energy systems. The interdisciplinary programme covers multiple aspects of the energy transition from a natural/environmental sciences and a technical point of view, and also addresses the socio-economic context and aspects. The focus of the programme is on energy systems at large, while also considering individual energy technologies. The energy transition needs a lot of people. Companies need people that understand energy. So educate them! An energy system consists of several resources, conversion and storage technologies, infrastructure and processes necessary to provide energy services to society. Energy systems are complex due to the different interactions between their elements and environment. The development and implementation of novel energy solutions can therefore only be analysed in the context of the system as a whole. To enrol in this two-year Master programme you need to have an interdisciplinary background or a background in natural science or engineering. This way you have a solid basis where we can start building upon.
