A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is: 90 credits in earth science and 15 credits in mathematics; or 90 credits in technology/engineering or physics and 30 credits in earth science or environmental science.
Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
Are you fascinated by water’s journey from rainfall to rivers and groundwater, tracing its path through the landscape and its environmental interactions? If you are passionate about managing water resources or addressing water-related disasters, the Master's Programme in Earth Science is for you! The specialisation in Hydrology/Hydrogeology allows you to study hydrological processes including runoff, groundwater formation, flow and much more. The specialisation in Hydrology/Hydrogeology in the Master's programme in Earth Science focuses on processes relating to water at or near the Earth's surface, its interactions with nature, and the relationships between water and human activities. The programme combines advanced courses on fundamental hydrological processes and the modelling of groundwater and surface water with hydrochemistry and field methods. It also provides a good foundation for the management of water resources in our society. During the programme, you can expect to: learn the fundamental processes that control the flow and cycling of freshwater at the Earth's surface; study the management of water resources and how to deal with water-related hazards; and combine studies in hydrological processes with sustainable use of water resources and human-water interactions.
