This module will introduce you to the discipline of public health within an international context focusing on progress to achieve global nutrition targets and Sustainable Development Goals. Within this module three key themes are explored. Firstly, the definition and scope of public health and quality of life and wellbeing. Secondly an exploration of the links between diet and disease including the consequences of different diets on health outcomes. Exploring changing patterns of diet and disease globally and how different health systems are addressing them. In this way the module provides key knowledge and skills that are a foundation for future professional practice in public health and nutrition. 20 credits
