The module will give you a working knowledge of agile project management methodologies, tools and techniques. You will develop an understanding of agile methods and practical skills in applying agile tools and techniques in projects using AgilePM. The module critically evaluates various agile methodologies for project management such as Scrum and Kanban. The module will enable you to practice aspects of applying agile principles and methods needed to manage agile projects in IT, digital services and other knowledge-based industries. 20 credits
Our Project Management MSc combines technical, behavioural and strategic perspectives of project management. You’ll develop expertise in planning, scheduling, monitoring and control, while also strengthening your leadership, communication and teamwork skills, ensuring you work effectively with stakeholders and diverse teams. You’ll also learn how to apply modern project delivery approaches, exploring iterative and hybrid ways of working.
Beyond project delivery, the course explores the wider organisational context in which projects operate. The Value and Benefits Realisation module examines how organisations define, realise and sustain value over time, helping students understand not only why projects are initiated, but also how successful outcomes are translated into lasting benefits. Bringing together project and product perspectives, the module recognises that value may be generated through projects themselves or through the products and services they deliver.
Through the Project Finance and Procurement module, you’ll understand how projects are funded, governed and brought to life through effective procurement strategies and partnerships.
You can tailor your studies through an option module focused on areas such as product management, AI and emerging technologies, or international projects. You’ll then apply your learning through a Capstone Project, choosing between a practical industry project or academic research project.

A minimum of a lower second class honours degree (2:2). Relevant degree disciplines include business studies, economics, events management, and operations research. However, students with qualifications in other disciplines such as engineering, IT, environmental sciences, the humanities and languages are also encouraged to apply. Alternative professional qualifications with at least three years' relevant professional experience will also be considered. A CV is expected. Interview may be required for non-standard applications either in-person or virtually.
If your first language is not English you should have an overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
