📖 项目简介
It explores the basic fabric of urban form: buildings, streets and open spaces, together with the forces that shape them, how they differ globally, the regulatory contexts, how they provide a physical environment to enable activities and livelihoods, and how this can influence urban design and planning. The module explores the urban form and movement patterns of urban settlements at the strategic and local level to enable a clear understanding of a range of scales. You learn key theoretical approaches to urban morphology, tissue studies, typo-morphological investigations, spatial development patterns, historic development, graphic methods, spatial analysis and various forms and manifestations of the physical built environment of cities. A practical spatial analysis project enables you to gain insight into the relationship between urban design theory, practice and the physical and spatial local context of urban form and movement patterns. You also investigate the city as networks and adjacencies; the intricate dynamics of movement, activity, use, occupation and social-cultural, economic interactions relevant to urban form that have framed the context of urban design interventions as cities develop, evolve and change.
