This degree will strengthen your knowledge of exercise medicine across the health spectrum, including the application of evidence-based exercise programs to prevent, treat, and manage individual health conditions, injuries, and/or disabilities.
You'll learn about a variety of health conditions, from neurological disorders (including spinal cord injuries and Parkinson's disease), musculoskeletal conditions (including injury rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation, and osteoporosis), severe mental health illnesses (such as Schizophrenia), cardiometabolic diseases (including diabetes and chronic heart failure), cancer, and much more.
Crucially, this course places a strong emphasis on ensuring you are equipped to provide care to clinical clients in line with best practice, including training on cultural sensitivity, understanding trauma, focusing on recovery and taking a strength-based approach.
Highly applied, you'll get many opportunities to put your learning into practice, with 360 hours of clinical placement built into your course. This will ensure you graduate with the competence and confidence you need to deliver evidence-informed exercise interventions in a range of clinical settings.
In this course we will teach you the advanced professional capabilities you need to provide safe and effective exercise-based treatments to individuals in diverse clinical and sub-clinical settings. This course aims to show you how to design, deploy and measure the success of interventions to address a wide array of health conditions and concerns.
