With small class sizes, our ‘selective’ units of study provide a supportive learning environment through close interaction with academic staff and fellow students. Where possible, we offer evening and recorded classes to suit busy professionals studying part time.

You’ll complete units of study in the following categories:

  • Core: advanced study in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and mathematical economics.
  • Selective: choice of advanced study in a broad range of economic applications.
  • Elective: optional choice of certain offerings from the Master of Economics program.
  • Capstone: application of the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course to a substantial independent research project, culminating in the submission of a 12,000-word dissertation. You’ll work on your dissertation during the final two semesters of enrolment in the course, under the supervision of an academic staff member. The research should identify an area for investigation which makes a relevant contribution to and extends the body of knowledge in the chosen domain.
