Build a critical understanding of global environmental challenges and learn to evaluate, design, and communicate effective solutions with our environmental management and sustainability master's degree.
On this 1-year course, you'll receive advanced training in the science, management, and governance of contemporary environmental challenges, such as:
biodiversity loss
climate change
water resource pressures
pollution
land use change
You'll also gain the knowledge and skills needed to understand and respond to these issues through integrated and evidence-based approaches.
This course is delivered by the School of Geography and Environmental Science and drawing on expertise from across the University. It takes an interdisciplinary approach that combines environmental science with policy, technology and sustainability thinking.
This allows you to develop strong foundations in:
environmental systems
research methods
spatial analysis
geographic information systems (GIS)
remote sensing
MSc Environmental Management and Sustainability combines disciplinary knowledge with practical, transferable and employability-focused skills. This means you'll graduate with independent research skills, analytical techniques, and key professional competencies.
By the time you complete your master's degree, you'll be able to address complex environmental problems and pursue a career in the environment and sustainability sector, or progress to further research.
