The Master of Social Work Program prepares leaders in ethical clinical and macro social work practice. Students who choose the MSW degree are interested in becoming highly competent social workers who are skilled at providing services in diverse settings and with diverse populations in ways that integrate interdisciplinary knowledge and social work values to address social needs and facilitate high-impact social change.
The MSW program offers pathways to your degree, each designed for different stages of your career and educational background. All tracks lead to the same CSWE-accredited Master of Social Work degree and include supervised practicum placements.
Through specializations, certificate programs, and dual degrees, MSW students can focus their studies on specific practice domains and pursue interdisciplinary opportunities across Penn’s 12 schools.
