This two-year, full-time accelerated MSc programme reflects the diversity of contemporary occupational therapy practice, enhancing the focus on population health and recognising changing and developing roles for occupational therapists. It integrates practice placement education with learning about how the human mind and body performs tasks, activities and occupations within the societal context in which people perform and the professional reasoning used by occupational therapists when working with people. Research and evidence-based practice is a strong theme throughout the programme, leading to graduates who are both consumers and producers of research and with the potential to be change-makers in occupational therapy in the future. You’ll graduate with a strong professional identity, resilience to flourish within the ever-changing context of professional practice and with confidence and competence in core occupational therapy skills, arising from a comprehensive understanding of occupation and its contribution to promote, maintain and restore health and well-being across the life-course.
This course is suitable for graduates from across a range of disciplines, such as biological sciences, social sciences and health sciences, who have gained a 2:2 classification in their degree.
