Become an expert in how communications and media impact society and prepare for a diverse career across professions including digital media, public relations and journalism.
Media and communications from individuals, organisations and brands flow through practically every aspect of our lives. Society, culture, business, politics, technology – they intimately shape our interactions with and understanding of the world. In this course, you will gain an in-depth understanding of how these two interconnected topics operate and influence.
Explore and critique various theoretical perspectives and their real-world applications. Choose from optional modules informed by our academics’ research interests and practice. And undertake an independent research project, working under the guidance of an individual supervisor to explore a topic of your choice in depth.
The flexibility of this course lets you develop both general expertise and specialist knowledge in the fields you’re most interested in. This means you can tailor your studies to the sectors and roles you want to progress into once you graduate, such as film, political communication or the broader cultural industries.
