The Master of Science in Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management [MSc(Eng)(IELM)] provides advanced postgraduate education for those holding managerial, supervisory or administrative positions in industrial and service sectors. The curriculum builds expertise in four main areas: logistics and supply chain management, data analytics, innovative technologies and their industrial applications, and financial and risk management. It also reflects the evolving role of industrial engineers in designing and managing operations for the production and delivery of products and services, while addressing the increasing complexity of supply chains arising from digitalisation, globalisation, customisation, trade protectionism, natural disasters, pandemics, and artificial intelligence. The programme aims to equip industrial engineers with the vision and competence to contribute to smart city, advanced manufacturing, logistics, innovative services and R&D developments. Students are required to complete 72 credits, comprising 48 credits of class-based taught courses, and a research-oriented dissertation equivalent to 24 credits. The dissertation is designed to develop students’ capability to address real-world problems through innovative ideas and technologies.
