• The University of Glasgow has been running MSc programmes in the field of biotechnology for over 15 years, producing over 1,000 graduates.
• Gain a sound understanding of the nature of business, based on bioscience knowledge and research, their opportunities for innovation and regulatory requirement constraints and evaluate intellectual property and ethical issues.
• Taught by the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences in conjunction with the triple accredited Adam Smith Business School, this MSc provides an informed knowledge of the scientific principles of biotechnology and their application in an industrial setting where scaled production is essential.
• Industrial partners will be involved in the co-delivery of taught and project components and networking opportunities will be provided for students.
• Industrial visits will allow students to observe the practical implication of the knowledge they are taught.
• Extensive laboratory-based teaching covers a wide range of practical skills in molecular biology, microbiology, synthetic biology, protein expression, protein purification and more.
• Gain valuable training through our flexible, independent, research project for students wishing to proceed to a PhD or into an industrial career. This may also be completed as a business-based project.

2.2 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in Life Sciences, Molecular Biosciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmacology.

We may also accept degrees in Animal Science, Zoology, Chemistry, Oceanography, Agriculture, Nanoscience, Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

We may also accept applicants with lower qualifications who have significant relevant work experience.

For applicants from non-majority English speaking countries, as defined by the UK Government , the University sets a minimum English Language proficiency level.

We accept a wide range of English language tests for entry to this programme. Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of programme start date, and requirements must be met using a single test.

• Any two subtests at 480 or higher, and any two subtests at 450 or higher
• B2 Pass with Merit
• 120 overall with writing at 120 and no subtest less than 110
• 140 Overall with any two subtests at 126 or higher, and any two subtests at 136 or higher

Degree from majority-English speaking country (as defined by the UKVI including Canada if taught in English)

• students must have studied for a minimum of their final year at Undergraduate level, or 9 months at Master's level, and must have completed their degree in that majority-English speaking country within 6 years of programme start.

TNE degree from UK university taught at a campus outside of the UK

• students must be awarded the degree by the UK university and must have completed the degree within 6 years of programme start.
