- The programme explores material culture through the recovery, examination, management and interpretation of artefacts.
- You will investigate how objects are produced, used, exchanged and understood within different cultural and historical contexts.
- Teaching combines artefact studies, archaeological methods, professional collections and museum practice, and approaches to material culture theory, helping you develop a well-rounded understanding of how objects can be used to study past societies and communicate cultural heritage.
Skills you will develop:
- Specialist skills in the identification, analysis and interpretation of material culture and archaeological artefacts, alongside practical experience in artefact handling, recording and research
