📖 项目简介
This course introduces students to the field of Clinical Psychology and the competencies required within the scientist-practitioner model of Clinical Psychology. These competencies will be developed through taught modules, an extended research project, and clinically relevant placements.
The programme provides a balance of academic, research and clinical experiences throughout which reflects relevant and up to date knowledge and skills and ensures that contemporary psychological practice and research is promoted. Students are expected to become critical consumers of and to contribute to research, and the emerging knowledge base. Students will have opportunities to participate in on-going research programmes within the University of Cambridge Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry and other departments.
Our approach to evidence-based therapies and holistic and rigorous psychological practice links directly to lifespan research and a sophisticated understanding of the complexity of factors associated with mental health and ill-health across the lifespan.
This course recognises the importance of societal and cultural factors with the expectation that students will develop an identity as “system leaders” who have a role to play in implementing policies grounded in psychologically informed evidence-based prevention for the entire population and tackling inequalities in mental health, wellbeing and access to high quality care.
The educational aims of the course are:
to acquire theoretical knowledge specific and relevant to the field of Clinical Psychology;
to give students with relevant experience at first-degree level the opportunity to carry out focused research in the discipline under close supervision; and to interpret research and its application to the practice of Clinical Psychology;
to give students the opportunity to work in a mental health or mental health related setting to develop skills required for the practice of Clinical Psychology.

The taught component of this course is approximately 140 hours. Module content is reviewed every year to ensure contemporary relevance. Key topic areas in Clinical Psychology are taught including:
critical awareness of models of mental health and the social and cultural context that contribute to our understanding of mental health and well-being across the lifespan;
psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions tailored to clients’ presenting difficulties;
a range of psychological models, along with their core therapeutic principles, techniques, and processes; implementation of culturally and socially informed interventions;
core generic therapeutical frameworks, concepts and skills relevant to the role of a Clinical Psychologist
clinical governance in health and mental health care with a global focus including regulatory frameworks, ethics, and core competencies relevant to the practice of Clinical Psychology;
public health approaches to mental health including epidemiology of mental health; social determinants of mental health across the lifespan; complexity of gene-environment interactions; life stressors and how they affect negative and positive mental health outcomes; and intersectionality of mental health disorders;
evidence-based therapy outcome measures in relation to recovery, values and goals and as informed by service user experiences as well as clinical indicators. The importance of self-awareness and working as a reflective practitioner within ethical and professional practice frameworks.

Applicants for this course should have achieved a High II.i Honours Degree .

For this programme, you will require:
A first degree in Psychology or a related field such as Sociology, Medicine, Public Health with a minimum classification of a high upper second (2.1) or equivalent,
Passing an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check and Health Check, In the case of overseas applicants an equivalent to the DBS check or disclosure/ statement of truth.
Evidence of commitment to the programme ethos

Score : Grade A & B (overall score of 193, with no element lower than 185 plus a Language Centre assessment)
