The MSc Psychology of Education is a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited conversion programme that provides you with an excellent grounding in the psychology of education. It draws on a wide range of theories and methods from across the core areas of psychology and encourages you to consider how they apply to education and educational contexts.
You will benefit from our longstanding tradition of high-quality research and teaching in this area, and will acquire unique skills in both psychology and research methods. You will learn how research can inform theory, policy and practice, and how to conduct your own empirical research. You will also acquire transferable skills such as communication skills, statistical analysis, computer literacy and teamwork.
This programme is designed specifically for individuals who do not already hold a BPS-accredited degree in psychology and who are seeking to achieve Graduate Membership (GMBPsS) with the BPS. If you have completed a BPS-accredited psychology undergraduate programme, this programme will cover similar core content, but we offer a unique applied focus and a chance to specialise in specific areas.
You will typically need a strong second-class honours degree (55% or higher) or an international equivalent in any subject.
We will consider your application if your interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements and may make you an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so you would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of your degree.
We will also consider your application if your final overall achieved grade is slightly lower than the programme's entry requirement.
If your achieved grade is lower than our entry requirements, your application may be more likely to receive an offer if you have additional qualifications. If you have additional qualifications, please include your CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when you apply, showing:
