Our vibrant international community and diverse teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, and bespoke skills workshops, enrich the LLM experience at the University of Bristol. A wide range of optional units reflect the expertise of our globally renowned academics, allowing you to further specialise your degree.
As part of this programme, you will study four units and a compulsory dissertation. You will study Law and Markets, and choose three other units, at least two of which will be from the specialist Commercial Law portfolio. You can choose one unit from the wider LLM pathway options.
Students will learn about Law and Markets, examining the complex world of commercial markets and investigating how they are regulated. You will explore case studies and have the opportunity to develop a wider understanding of the relationship between law and the operation of markets.
You can tailor your programme to reflect and combine interests in trade law, financial regulation, company and corporate governance, arbitration of international commercial disputes, and many other areas.
Optional unit selection typically includes Company Law in Practice (practical application of company law through analysing real-world scenarios), International Corporate Finance and International Sale of Goods.

You will typically need an upper second-class honours degree or an international equivalent in Law
OR
an upper second-class honours degree or an international equivalent in a related field, such as Business, Economics, Management or Finance.
If you are currently completing a degree, we understand that your final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades you have achieved during your studies to date.
We will consider your application if your interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements and may make you an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so you would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of your degree.
We will also consider your application if your final overall achieved grade is slightly lower than the programme's entry requirement.
evidence of significant (minimum of 12 months) relevant academic or professional experience in commercial practice, financial services practice and policy making, corporate or commercial law, arbitration, regulation or policy.
