[Wentao] My name is Wentao, and I'm studying Communications Engineering at Birmingham.
The reason I choose Communications at Birmingham is because I studied four years of Electronic Engineering, and I think Birmingham is a good city for me.
For me, it's very useful because I learn how to work with other people and how to organise my timetable.
I learn about radar systems, which for me is the key technology in communications engineering.
Computer networks and radar navigation are very close to my future career, so I chose communications engineering.
We were asked to design a radar system with programming and to do some signal processing in MetLab with some coding and programming.
So, I talk with my classmates in these labs.
I guess in the future I will become an engineer, maybe in years I will start my own business.
If you choose communication engineering, you will study these kind of amazing things to create a better future.
Since I graduated I have been working in product and development and technical support for global telecoms companies such as Nortel and IBM. The MSc was everything I was hoping for in being both challenging and interesting. It gave me an edge over other candidates at interview and helped open doors to the large global leaders in the telecoms industry.
