Why Study MSc Civil Engineering and Management? | University of Birmingham Duration: 01.34
[Shiv] I'm Shiv Thakkar, I did my Master's in Civil Engineering and Management.
After graduating in India in 2017, I started a job as a Site Engineer and by working, I thought I need to enhance my knowledge and so I wanted to do a Masters.
I started looking all around the world and I chose to go to the UK.
UoB belongs to the Russell Group, so of course I knew that I would get a world-class education, and the modules provided were technical and managerial. That's exactly what I was looking for because I wanted to grow my managerial skills in construction industries.
The course had people from multicultural places.
My favourite aspect of the course was the course itself - the way it provides real engineering problems and gives real engineering solutions.
As the course had technical and managerial modules, which included Construction Management, Risk Assessment, and Risk Management, those are the modules which I utilise in my day-to-day life.
And of course, not forgetting about the skills which I gained from UoB - which includes communication skills, leadership skills, and of course collaborative skills.
It has had a very good impact on my career, so after graduating, I just started a job as a Site Engineer in the UK.
I'm going to strongly say that UoB has changed my life.
