This MSc is jointly delivered by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN) and the Business School, giving you the best of both worlds: scientific grounding in exercise physiology, nutrition and athlete health alongside the management, marketing and finance skills needed to succeed in sport, health and wellness organisations of any size, or as an entrepreneur in your own right.
You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials and hands-on laboratory sessions, supported by guest lectures and field trips connecting you to entrepreneurial and business organisations working across the sport, health and wellness sector. A dedicated design project lets you apply both your business and science knowledge to a real-world problem, developing a solution and the business case to support it. The taught element is complemented by a substantial work-based placement project, giving you direct experience to build your confidence and employability.
The part-time route is studied over 24 months (September start), with Stage 1 and Stage 2 courses taken across Year 1 and Year 2 in a suitable combination depending on your availability and commitments. Courses taken in Year 1 cannot be repeated in Year 2.
