This degree integrates the study of political economy, international relations and research methods with regional expertise across Central, Eastern and South-East Europe and Eurasia—areas central to contemporary geopolitical change.
You will develop strong analytical, critical and research skills to understand complex global challenges, including economic governance, political transformation, inequality and shifting international power dynamics. The interdisciplinary curriculum explores how politics and economics interact across national and global contexts, preparing you for careers that require both policy insight and strategic thinking.

The School of Slavonic and East European Studies has its own Careers Tutor and advisor and careers events are held during the year to enable students to meet prospective employers and gain insights from sectors, enable networking and attend hands-on workshops.
Our graduates progress to careers in governmental or international organisations, and many specialise in finance, commerce, analysis or consultancy. Others begin careers in diplomacy, journalism, or in non-governmental organisations. Some have continued to further study, choosing to undertake a PhD.
