In this course, you will gain the theoretical foundations and empirical tools needed to understand how policymaking operates in both theory and practice across international relations, political science, public policy and comparative politics. You will develop the analytical skills to examine global affairs and critically evaluate the complex challenges facing international policymakers.
Alongside rigorous core training in international relations and research methods, you will have the flexibility to tailor your studies through a wide range of elective courses. Whether your interests lie in international political economy and development, international security and human rights, foreign policy, international law, comparative politics or political theory, you can shape your course to reflect your academic interests and career ambitions.
The MSc also provides the knowledge and methodological training to prepare you for careers in international politics and policymaking, as well as further postgraduate study or a research degree.
