Profound skills in advanced modeling and simulation techniques are becoming increasingly important for mechanical engineers in all industries. The M.Sc. Computer Aided Conception and Production in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc. CAME) program addresses this demand and combines sound knowledge in manufacturing, design, automation, production, and simulations, training students to create digital twins of technical objects and systems that provide simulation solutions for complex design tasks in mechanical engineering.
The program will deepen the knowledge in key engineering fundamentals such as the finite element method, numerical methods, continuum mechanics as well as multibody dynamics, while also introducing new knowledge in current AI subjects such as intelligent monitoring of engineering systems or artificial neural networks.
Students will thus develop a strong profile as a computational engineer and become experts in digital engineering to meet the challenges of today’s changing manufacturing and production.
A prerequisite for starting this course of studies is a first university degree which proves the necessary background education as determined in the examination regulations. Furthermore, a GRE certificate with the min. scores of 145 VR, 160 QR, 3 AW as well as practical work experience of at least 6 months are mandatory admission requirements. Graduates of the master’s qualification program German Engineering College (GEC) , offered by RWTH International Academy do not need to submit a GRE certificate with their application. The examination board determines whether the applicant fulfills the entrance requirements.
