• Unlike many other Master's programs in English, our program culminates in a major piece of an independent research paper, which is carried out under the supervision of a Faculty member;
• It is possible to complete the program in one calendar year and the course-based format provides the best training before specialization;
• The Department brings together three different (though related) areas of study including Literature, Drama and Theater, and Cultural Studies;
• Faculty members are collaborators on research projects with the Burney Centre, the McGill Medievalists, the Bibliographic Society of Canada. They are also members of research teams focusing on Shakespeare and Performance, Early Modern Conversions, Interacting with Print, Eating in Canada, and Novelists on the Novel.
