The Master of Information Studies (M.I.St.) Information Studies (Non-Thesis) offered by the School of Information Studies in the Faculty of Arts is a course-based program that emphasizes in-depth and forward-thinking learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in data collection, analysis, and information management to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

The program is available as one of two options:

Course Work option : focuses on the intellectual foundations for careers as information professionals, competencies in managing information and knowledge resources, equal access to information, the appropriate use of technology in meeting information needs, research in the field of library and information studies, and commitment to professional service for individuals, organizations and society.

Project option : similar to the Course Work option, though there is a research project component of 15 credits.
