• The MA program (Non-Thesis) provides a foundational grounding for students who have pursued some Jewish Studies courses through their B.A. and who now wish to add to their knowledge within the broad field of Jewish civilizational studies;
• The MA program (Non-Thesis) serves as an essential gateway to further advanced studies or the professional world;
• The Department of Jewish Studies is the only department of its kind in Canada and one of the few in North America. Our expertise is wide-ranging and extends especially to modern Jewish history (globally); medieval Jewish philosophy and modern Jewish thought, Hebrew and Jewish literature, and contemporary North American Jewish life (including education and social activism);
• Students benefit from the possibility (with the approval of the Department) to take a number of credits outside of the department and university and therefore benefit from the training of affiliated faculty at McGill, Concordia, and other universities in Montreal.
