Bachelor’s degree of at least 180 credits in science or engineering, or equivalent. The degree must include 15 credits in mathematics. English course 6/English level 2 (advanced proficiency).
You will explore complex earth and environmental processes and learn how computational science can contribute to scientific knowledge and societal development. Current application areas include environmental and climate change, biodiversity and global environmental challenges.
The programme provides advanced expertise in computational science while taking an interdisciplinary approach. You will use numerical simulations and machine learning to make predictions, analyse data and, in some cases, replace time-consuming experiments.
Alongside a strong foundation in computational science theory, you will gain hands-on experience with the tools used by professionals in the field and develop your programming skills. The programme also builds transferable skills in problem-solving, information retrieval, data management, scientific writing and presentation techniques.
The programme has strong ties to current research. You will be taught by internationally well-recognised researchers and have opportunities to engage with several research groups. All teaching is conducted in English.
