This programme is aimed at composers who want to develop their creative practice with a focus on film and media. The focus is on refining your ability to convey drama and emotional arcs through moving images and developing your own artistic voice.
Your studies will give you the opportunity to work individually on composition and deepen your knowledge of areas including film analysis, digital tools, electroacoustic music, music theory and instrumentation. You will also gain experience of adapting your work to the demands for innovation and change that characterise the film and media industries.
An important part of the programme is collaborating with other professionals in media production. You will develop your ability to work with, for example, directors, editors and sound designers, and to understand the role of music within a broader artistic and production context.
