Industrial Design is the professional practice of designing products, devices, objects and services used by millions of people around the world every day.
Industrial designers traditionally focus on the physical appearance, functionality, and manufacturability of a product, but they are now involved in far more during a development cycle. This ultimately extends to the overall lasting value and experience a product or service provides for end-users.
Our MSc in Integrated Industrial Design will develop your critical awareness of current and emerging industrial design practice and theory, increasing the breadth and capability you can contribute to product development, and the value you can bring to employers. The programme encompasses the entire design process; from opportunity identification to a complete product which is suitable for manufacture at scale. It is suitable for both recent industrial and product design graduates, current practitioners who are looking to advance their core design knowledge and specialist skills to a higher level, and those seeking to switch career to industrial design.

Our entry requirements are listed using standard UK undergraduate degree classifications i.e. first-class honours, upper second-class honours and lower second-class honours. To learn the equivalent for your country, please choose it from the drop-down below.
A 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering Design or closely related subject.
A portfolio providing evidence of experiential learning and/or practice, with clear evidence of physical prototyping capability at an appropriate standard is required.
