Molecular biology is aimed at understanding the molecular level of life and its role in health and disease. This multidisciplinary programme unites biology and computational analysis to unlock the structure and function of molecules as well as their interplay in all of life’s phenomena. This interuniversity programme, organised by Vrije Universiteit Brussel in collaboration with KU Leuven and Universiteit Antwerpen, focuses on understanding the molecular basis of life and its applications in human health and plant production. Students can specialise in ‘Biotechnology for Global Health’ or ‘Agro- and Plant Biotechnology’. Molecular biology is a rapidly evolving discipline at the crossroads of chemical, biological, physical and computational sciences. It focuses on understanding cellular processes, biological molecules and their interactions.
