Situated at the confluence of physics, chemistry, materials science, electronics, biotechnology and quantum engineering, the Master is focused on analyzing (science), manipulating (technology) and developing(engineering) devices and materials at the nanometre scale. The Master of Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanoengineering (120 ECTS) is a research-based master’s programme in which you can put a focus on one of the following fields: Nanoscience, Nanotechnology and Nanoengineering lie at the interface of physics, chemistry, materials science, electronics, biotechnology and quantum engineering. Modifications at the nanometer scale can alter the electrical, optical, magnetic, thermal and mechanical properties of materials and devices. The programme teaches the nanoscale fundamentals of scientific disciplines and the use of nanotechnologies for the development of impactful devices and materials at the macro scale. The programme is highly multidisciplinary , with courses designed to encourage thinking beyond the boundaries of individual scientific disciplines. Courses are continuously updated to reflect the latest innovations in this young and rapidly evolving field. Teaching staff are closely affiliated with cutting-edge research centres such as imec and the Leuven NanoCentre , recognised worldwide as leaders in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
