Medicines, sustainable materials and energy supply: chemistry lies at the root of human needs. You will immerse yourself in theory, scientificresearch and lab practise. Whether as a researcher or a manager in multiple sectors: as a chemist, you will come up with creative solutionsto both everyday and extraordinary challenges. The Master of Chemistry is a research-based master’s programme in which you can specialise in the following fields: Breakthroughs in chemistry can change the texture of our lives. The Master of Chemistry imparts in its students insight into the composition, structure and properties of matter, and the design, synthesis and development of new (bio)molecular materials. The programme trains students to conduct research in an industrial or academic setting. As a student, you will be able to translate a given problem into a chemical research question and explore the answer to this question based on your knowledge of specific and advanced chemistry topics in an interdisciplinary context. You will also have acquired the skill of reporting your findings to peers and non-experts. You will be taught by an international team of lecturers who are all experts in their research domain. You can complete your internship both in Belgium and abroad. In addition, you can take courses at a foreign university through various exchange programmes.
