Laws exist throughout the world, across continents and in different cultures and societies, governing the way we live, work and play. Our LLM Master of Laws reflects this variety of contexts and offers you the opportunity to choose from a range of legal specialisms, with the result that you can tailor your legal qualification to suit your interests.
This one-year full-time course comprises taught modules delivered through a mixture of lectures, smaller student-led seminars or tutorials, as well as a major dissertation, which you will produce under supervision.
Students join the LLM from a broad range of countries and backgrounds, enriching the learning experience through the academic or professional experience they bring to the course. You will be able to participate in activities hosted by research centres that have their homes in the Law School, including the Institute for Commercial and Corporate Law, the Durham European Law Institute, the Centre for Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, Law and Global Justice at Durham and the Human Rights Centre.
You can choose from a range of modules, which can be selected from areas across the Law School, including International Trade and Commercial Law, European Trade and Commercial Law, Corporate Law and International Law and Governance, where subjects range from the law of the sea to electronic commerce.

Postgraduate Taught
The Diplomë Universitare alone is not considered to be sufficient preparation for postgraduate study. We require either the Diplomë e Nivelittë Pare (Bachelor (First Level (University) Diploma/Bachelor's degree), the Master Shkencave (Master of Science), or the Kandidat i Shkencave (Candidate of Sciences) with an overall mark of ≥9.0/10.0 from an ASCAL accredited institution.
Postgraduate Research
Candidates require both a Diplomë e Nivelittë Dytë (Second Level (University) Diploma) and a Bachelor's degree from ASCAL accredited institutions. The Bachelor's degree should have an overall mark of ≥9.0/10.0.

Applicants require a Bátxelor from the Universitat d’Andorra with a grade of ≥8.5/10.
Qualifications awarded from the private institutions Humanium International University, Universitat Carlemany, Universitas Europea IMF and University Oberta la Salle, the latter for the period 2010-2021 only, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
