If you hold eligible professional qualifications, you may be able to receive credit towards the Professional Accounting MSc with Advanced Standing. This can reduce the amount of study required to complete the course, subject to the qualifications held and the university's recognition of prior learning requirements.
This course is accredited by CIMA for the 2026/27 intake. Successful completion of the course entitles students to exemptions from 11 papers of CIMA. CIMA does not charge for exemption applications. This course is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants . (ACCA) for the 2026/27 intakes. On successful completion of the course, you will be eligible for exemption from several Applied Skills level ACCA papers. Please note that you will need to take additional papers to attain the ACCA qualification, which will incur additional costs. You will also need to fulfil the practical experience requirement, register with ACCA and apply for relevant exemptions. ACCA sets the requirements, which are subject to change. Entry with Advanced Standing: Qualified accountants holding qualifications from the professional bodies listed below can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to be exempt from 120 credits of taught modules. To ensure that applicants are suited to the course, applicants may be invited to an online interview. Accepted applicants will be required to complete the 60-credit Dissertation module to be eligible for the award of Professional Accounting MSc.
