You'll have access to Bloomberg, the industry-standard financial markets platform used by investment banks, asset managers and financial institutions around the world. Working with live and historical market data, you'll apply the concepts you learn in lectures to analyse companies, financial markets and economic events using the same professional tools used across the finance industry. Bloomberg gives you experience of working with real-world financial data across global equities, bonds, currencies and commodities.
Our programme delves into the intricacies of financial markets, investment strategies and risk management, focusing on practical financial analysis and decision-making skills.
During the taught stage, you will master advanced finance theories and models, develop analytical and econometric skills for data-driven insights, and understand international investment strategies. You will also learn to evaluate financial regulations, assess market risks and apply effective risk management techniques. This foundation prepares you for practical financial decision-making and sets the stage for your in-depth research project.
In the dissertation phase, you will complete a research project on a finance topic of your choice, showcasing your ability to conduct independent research with a clear consideration of ethics, theory and methods.
As well as a strong understanding of the methods and models in finance, you’ll get to develop skills in high demand in the financial sector and more broadly in business with practical experiences and applying your learning to real world situations.

Subject specific requirements
We encourage applications from those with a background in economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, statistics or related disciplines. However, if you do not hold a degree in one of these subjects, you may still be eligible for the programme if you can evidence prior studies in mathematics or statistics within your degree or at A Level for home students. Prior studies in mathematics/statistics/quantitative modules should be at a minimum grade of 50%.
