The Procurement Graduate Buyer will support the procurement team in driving the strategic and operational needs of JLR’s supplier eco-system. This entry-level role is designed for recent graduates with strategic, analytical & communication capabilities with a passion for the automotive industry. The role offers broad exposure to work with internal & external stakeholders, influence JLR’s procurement strategies and ensure that our supply chains remain resilient, providing a strong foundation for future career growth within the procurement organization. ________________________________________ Key Accountabilities Supplier Management •Support supplier onboarding and qualification. •Build and maintain supplier relationships. •Participate in supplier performance reviews and business reviews. •Support supplier development and issue resolution. Sourcing & Commercial Activities •Support sourcing exercises and supplier tenders. •Support component and commodity sourcing decisions. •Assist with contract negotiations and commercial discussions. •Evaluate supplier quotations and business cases. Cost Management •Analyse supplier costs and market trends. •Identify cost reduction opportunities. •Support savings projects, claims management, and commercial recoveries. •Monitor cost performance against programme targets. Commodity & Procurement Strategy •Develop and update Strategic Commodity Dossiers (SCDs). •Support long-term sourcing strategies for key commodities. •Conduct market intelligence, technology scanning, and risk assessments. •Recommend sourcing strategies to management. Program & Launch Support •Support new vehicle programmes and component industrialisation. •Work with engineering, finance, supplier development, quality, and manufacturing teams. •Assist with supplier readiness and programme launch activities. •Support CPPAP and supplier approval processes. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement •Investigate procurement data and market information. •Improve procurement processes and systems. •Support transformation initiatives and supply chain improvements. •Monitor supplier scorecards and performance metrics. ________________________________________ Education & Qualifications •Bachelor's degree or Master's degree obtained within the last 2 years. •Major in Business or Supply Chain Management, Economics, Automotive Management, Data Analytics, Finance, or related disciplines preferred. •Outstanding fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. ________________________________________ Experience •Previous internship experience in Procurement, Business Analysis, Consulting, Operations, Automotive, or related industries is preferred. •Demonstrated leadership experience through university projects, student organizations, competitions, or extracurricular activities is an advantage. •No full-time working experience required. ________________________________________ Knowledge & Skills Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to develop across China Procurement’s five core capabilities: •Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and numerical capability, with the ability to understand the wider business context, evaluate information, challenge assumptions and develop logical, evidence-based recommendations. •Commercial Excellence: Good commercial awareness, together with the potential to develop strong negotiation and influencing skills and create sustainable commercial value. • Influence: Strong stakeholder management, communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships and collaborate across functions, regions and cultures. •AI Capability: Curiosity about AI, data and digital tools, with a willingness to use technology and analytical insights to improve productivity, decision-making and ways of working. •Leadership: A proactive problem-solving mindset, with ownership, adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively, support change and turn ideas into practical improvements.
